AAAHHH I can't believe one week ago today the high was 68.... and now we're sitting under six inches of snow.... melting slowly... but still there. That's Minnesota weather for you. 68 to a blizzard in four days.... I was happy that our first big snow storm happened to fall over the weekend as I didn't have to deal with fools trying to remember how to navigate the roads in rush hour traffic. I didn't leave my house all weekend because I didn't have to, and I didn't want to deal with the morons on the road. But come Monday morning I had no choice. Time to head in for work. Get on the freeway, and it wasn't a half mile before I came to a stop... I've got 23 miles to go on this freeway, and I'm thinking, it's only gonna get worse from here... Thankfully right after I got past the next overpass, I saw the problem, there was an accident on the right shoulder... well, ditch really. There was one Dodge Durango looking vhl that was facing us with the whole front end smashed in, and beyond him further in the ditch an Intrepid was again facing the opposite direction he was originally heading .... And they were the cause of my slow down. The rest of the ride in was smooth sailing, an ice patch here and there, but other than that, it didn't take me any longer than normal to get in. It's about that time where I start taking the back way to work, passing all the stopped traffic on the highway... I am sure I'm going to get stuck in horrible traffic once before I remember it's time to take that way in.... It always happens!
I've decided to keep my Torii for now, as I don't want to have a brand new car over the winter months... Working in insurance I know if I buy a brand new car, It'll be in a wreck within the first six months of owning it... So I really don't want to take that chance on the wintry roads of MN. This will give me time to save up a big ol' down payment so I can get more car! Here's hoping Torii makes it thru the winter with me!

This is why, when I threaten to move to Minnesota, my friends and family say, "You wouldn't be able to survive there...YOU HATE SNOW."
To which I reply, "I'll winter on the east coast and summer in Minnesota during the bulk of the baseball season...duh!"
At least folks out your way probably know how to take care of snowy roads since it snows there so often. Out here, the roads are often not plowed all that well and people still drive like maniacs no matter what the weather conditions are.
Yeah we have pro snow removers here. It could snow 3 feet and we'd still be headed out to work... I envy all the towns out there who shut down with an inch of snow on the ground!
You would think that people would get used to the snow and not drive like a bunch of pansies, but they do. And from time to time it takes me 3 hours to get to work. Not looking forward to that!!!
