Denver Colorado

So, Thursday night, I jumped on a plane to Denver, CO to visit a friend, Joel. I arrived at 1030 their time... Joel met me there on his moto, we went and picked up my rental car... we went back to get his bike and I followed him to his place. I think we got there around 1230. I was too tired to do anything that night, so we stayed in. Friday morning Joel took me around downtown Denver on his moto. He had to work a few hours on Friday, so I walked down the 16th street mall... I was attacked by a Green peace guy... well, I maybe attacked isn't the right word... But he walked with me for 3 blocks, before he asked me to give them a monthly donation. I saw Hard Rock Cafe and ducked into there to lose him. I had a beer in a keeper cup there... then went into their little shop, found a cute zippy that I liked, and the lady talked me into buying 3 items to get a free shot glass. I can't pass up a free shot glass (even though I have a HRC Denver shot glass already from when my sister visited!!). On my way back down 16th street, I stopped at the Rock Bottom Brewery for one more beer before meeting up with Joel again... one beer turned into two, then Joel met up with me and I had another, and we got some food... We walked back to his bike and headed up to Lookout Mountain. It was BEAUTIFUL!! I was cold as heck, but it was totally worth it! I got some beautiful shots... Friday night we went out to an art show, one of Joel's co-workers had his art up at this little eye glasses store. We went in a few little art shops there, then headed back. We bought some pizzas and watched a movie that night. Saturday we headed out to to Boulder CO. They have a place similar to the 16th street mall, but this was Pearl Street. We stopped for burgers at a bar, it was delicious!! We went in a bunch of little shops with different arts... paintings, sculptures it was great. We hit up Old Chicago before heading up into the mountains again. We just drove around up there for a couple hours and headed back. For dinner we stopped at this sammy shop called "the smiling moose" it was really delicious. I would spend all my lunch money there if I lived in Denver! We went to this bar called "Rockbar" it was a bar connected to a hotel... all the booths were covered in brown vinyl... it was like straight out of the 70s. We had a drink, then went to Blockbuster and picked up two movies.. We watched Bubbleboy which I own, but Joel hadn't seen it yet... most un PC movie ever, but freaking hilarious! Then we watched My Best Friends Girl which was pretty funny too. Sunday we got up and had breakfast at the Denver Diner... Delicious food! I had chicken fried steak and over easy eggs, toast and hashbrowns! mmm. After that, we went to our first Monster Truck show! We were in our best redneck outfits :) It was pretty fun! I believe Grave Digger was the winner of the day. We took another stroll down the 16th St Mall, I had to buy me a Colorado sweatshirt that I had seen on Friday. We headed back to his place where we watched the end of the pro-bowl..or really we napped thru it. Sunday night we went bowling, we played four games, I beat him the first two games, he beat me the second two games. I think it was like half way thru the 2nd game when a family joined us... It was a mother, three of her daughters, one grand child and a friend of the girls. They were hilarious!! They would scream a boys name whenever one of the girls went up to bowl... I told them they had to help me out and scream a name when I was up to bowl as the girls would do good when this happened!! So they started yelling for both Joel and Me... It was pretty funny. After our four games we went to play pool, and then headed in... Monday morning got up and ready, and headed to the airport!! I loved Colorado. Such a beautiful area! I would love to be able to look at the mountains every day of my life. I mentioned to Joel that I bet people take it for granted!! The one thing i didn't like was the altitude... it really got me goofy!! I was out of breath after walking up one flight of stairs!! I was light headed when we went up in the mountains too!! I would love to go back in the summer and do some camping up in the mountains!!
anyway, you can go to my flickr page to see all the photos!
