26 more days...

I have to keep repeating this over and over... I wake up to 4 inches of snow, and more to come... Just 26 more days till SPRING TRAINING games start! YEAAAY!  TwinsFest was this weekend... and I didn't have tickets.. I did a few things to keep my mind off the fact that I wasn't going to be hanging out with my favorite boys of summer.
If it weren't for Aaron, I'd have been cooped up in my apartment working on quilts all weekend... BUT, Aaron invited me to a Gopher hockey game Friday night... So after work I headed to downtown Minneapolis to meet up with him and head into the U of M.  We met up with a couple of his buddies, one of which I met 10 years ago when I dated Aaron's bro. Went to Sally's (which I haven't been to in like 4 years)... I can tell I'm getting old because I kept thinking "dang they are playing their music loud!"  We ate, drank and chatted it up before the game. Then headed over to the arena where we watched the Gophers body slam the Alaska Seawolves 5-1.
Since we didn't want to sit in after game traffic, we decided it was time to go back to Sally's (this time the loud music didn't bother me, maybe b/c we were there as "its time to drink" rather than "its time to eat dinner").  Anyway one of the guys went home, the other stayed with Aaron and me.  About 20 min into our drinks, I noticed the guy we were with had a zipper that wasn't zipped. Now, had it been the guy I knew going back 10 years, I'd have said something.... But being the guy who I just met...I couldn't do it. I couldn't tell him his zipper was down. But I also couldn't help but keep looking at it....maybe hoping he'd figure it out??? I don't know... I was stuck in a drunken conundrum... Never did say anything to him, and thankfully we sat down not much long after I figured it out...I could no longer see the zipper in question, and soon forgot about it.
Saturday I spent the day quilting up a storm... I had to keep my mind off of the fact that I wasn't at TwinsFest...and what a way to do it... I started quilting at 2, and didn't quit until 10:30... I didn't even eat in that time. I had the quilt almost finished by that time... Just had to sew the strips of fabric together and I'd have my quilt top.  But I had to quit as I was meeting up with Aaron again on Sunday morning for brunch.
It was a delicious brunch at Bar Abaline.  And bottomless mimosas to boot!  I always have fun hanging out with Aaron, he's totally different than most of my other friends (other than his bro, they are two very similar people). It's always interesting to hear his view of me, and our friends.  He's very observant, and not in the "she's got purple socks on" kind of way, but the psychological kind of way.
After a few mimosas, headed back home in hopes of finishing up that baby quilt I was so close to finishing... I did it! woohoo!!  It's always so gratifying to see the finished product!  It's for my co-worker Sarah who just had a baby on Friday... Nothing like waiting till the last minute... But it sure says one thing about me...Works well under pressure!!
Anyhow, hope you all had a nice weekend. I've got another exciting one planned for next weekend... Going to be working on the other baby quilt for another friend... Plus, going to do some ceramics on Saturday with Shelly... oh, and going to a party on Sunday. Something about a football game??!!??? IDK, but I'm counting down the days to spring training...
