guys..

My co-worker Sarah and I were talking today about guys... Really the talk started out with our dads.. Her dad is in and out of town with work and she says she misses him and gets nervous that something will happen when he's gone that he could fix.... She said that she isn't sure how she's going to handle it when she loses her dad.  I told her I feel the same way about my dad!!  My dad is sooo funny, he can fix anything, and beneath his rough exterior, he's just a softy.  Which led us to talk about the difference in guys now a days and guys like our dads... In my last oh 18 years I've dated all sorts of guys... guys who could fix cars.. guys who could build things... computer guys... musical guys... artsy guys... cowboy guys....
all these guys, and they are all good at what they do, but that's it... if they can fix my car, they can't put in wood floors... If they can re-do my bathroom, they can't fix my computer...
Though men my dads age didn't have the computer to figure out... they sure can do everything else... If my car has something wrong, my dad can probably fix it...with his age, it's more of, do i want him to fix it... My dad put in my new lights, and he is going to be coming down to put in my new ceiling fans.... he put in my garbage disposal, and kitchen sink... he put in the bamboo floors in my bathroom and a new vanity mirror, my new bathroom sink and faucet.... Where are the guys that can do all that for me???
My dad is an awesome man, and I'm soooo lucky to have him as a father!  I wish there were jack of all trades like him out there now a days!!

dad

Hi all! Mom Stef and I are hanging out in the waiting room. Dads surgery was scheduled for 245 today.
Got up and headed into work. Mom called me to let me know dad was in for his angeoplasty already. She said shed know more once it was complete. At 9 mom called to tell me that they found 90 percent blockage and the were moving the surgery up to 10am. Stef headed to my work and I drove from there to united. After running around the hospital for like 20 min we finally found him . We hung out with him till his pre op. Once he was ready stef and I went in to be with him till they took him away. I think they started round noon and the surgery was to last about an hour to an hour and a half... So now we wait!

Dad...

For those of you who don't know what is going on with my dad, here is the story.
Last Thursday Dad went to archery, as he does every Thursday. He noticed a grey spot in his vision while shooting. He went the weekend, not saying anything until Sunday when he told mom about this spot. Monday he went in to see what was up with this spot in his vision. They explained to him that he has plaque build up in his corroded artery. He set up an apt for today to have an ultrasound done to see the extent of the plaque. We found out today that he needs to go in for surgery tomorrow around 11 to have this plaque removed. Thru the research I did online I found out that when this happens, it typically leads to a stroke.. I also read that it only happens to less than 1% of people in their 50s...granted dad is almost out of his 50s...but still!! Anyway, from what I can find, it seems like it should be something that he can recover quickly from. When I spoke with him today, he was in high spirits... teasing me when i asked how they were doing the surgery...his response 'they are going to slit my throat' i said DAD, SERIOUSLY, how are they doing it?' he responded "i imagine ear to ear!" It made me happy to know he is keeping his sense of humor... Mom and Dad are at another apt right now, I think they are going over the procedure... I will keep you all updated, and please keep my pops in your prayers :)
i love google.. here is what i have found on my own!
