Bachelorette party numero uno!

I've gotta do this all before I forget :)  For my first bachelorette party, I was accompanied by three lovely ladies to Virginia Beach!  Though the weather was rough--rained and was pretty chilly the entire time... We made the best of it. We were there to drink anyway, eh?  We drove down on Friday night, and went to CP Shuckers for dinner. We all ordered the same first drink, a special--the Trophy Wife... I mean, really, could it be a more perfect drink to start the weekend with??
Next up, Harpoon Larry's. We asked the bartender what drink everyone orders at his bar--He told us the Rum Runner... So that's what we started with... and I ended with! I think I had at least four of them. The biggest mistake the whole weekend!!  It's tough to tell in the pic below, but he's "loaded" the straws with rum... The pic below the next shows it a bit better
Here you can see the rum filled straw!  after the first rum runner, I figured it out... Pull the straw up and mix the rum right back into the drink. This didn't help my hangover on Saturday though... The sugaer did me in
the walk home was fun! The Neptune statue!

I didn't get out of bed until 1pm. Thanks rum runner. While I slept, the girls were on the balcony, bundled up, drinking wine from penis straws :)
this is what it looked like... no sun. all rain... super chilly!
I finally rolled out of bed at 1pm and got dressed, it was time to rally. We headed out to dinner, I had a little something something to drink... then an after dinner drink at Murphy's... I had a Jameson and Coke.. that was my magic potion that got me right back in shape and ready to party!  We started at the hotel bar-Shots a flowing--thankfully easy shooter shots, but shots nonetheless.

we played a fun game, along the way pulling random things we needed to do... One was to find someone named Dan. And well, we did. Kinda. We renamed our bartender Dan. and he went along with it! He was a super awesome bartender for us at Waterman's!
Bartender Dan told us where we had to go next. which was a bar that I'd actually been to before with my parents... we went during the day, but we were there!! Calypso Bar and Grill

we met these fellas playing our little game, they joined in like troopers! Funny story, one of the things that was pulled by the guy on the right (you know with the peen poking him in the face) was "find someone else from Minnesota"  He looked at his buddy and laughed and said how am I supposed to do this? I asked what it was, he said "find someone from MN" I said "I'm from minnesota!" he said "ME TOO!" guy was from Apple Valley. So random.

After a long night of drinking we were ready to crash. but not until we had some pizza in us...

We were all sleeping soundly when suddenly we hear pounding on the wall... Lauren was yelling that her sister wouldn't get out of the bathroom... what a funny way to wake up :)

we couldn't leave the beach until we got some beach pics. though we were no where near the ocean, we got some pics anyway.

what a great weekend with some wonderful ladies. I had so much fun and I'm so lucky to call you all friends :)

and can I just say blogger's editing features really suck? moving pics sucks. centering sucks. and moving things after it moves it for you sucks. sorry if the format is redonk!

NKOTB baby!

They are back my friends! and cuter than ever. more on them later. Sorry it has taken me so long to get an update here... I have no excuses, just that I haven't sat down to do this!
So Friday afternoon I was picked up (all be it 30 min late) by enterprise rent a car. They let me choose the car I wanted, and I went with the 08 version of my car! I loved it, for the most part. It didn't have 2 cig lighters like mine has! so we had to have either the ipod or the radar detector on. for the most part it was the ipod! After getting the car, I headed down to Hastings to pick up Jen. We went to Dugarrels for lunch and then picked up Tristi and headed out of town. We reached Whitewater around 830. We wanted to try to get to the bar by 9 as thats when the grills closed, but we missed it. Instead we had apps for dinner. We went to Fat Jacks to drink and eat, and of course see Jeff. We talked with him a bit, and drank a lot. We had a wonderful drink that tris, mary and I shared, the fishbowl, blueberry style. mmm. After Fat Jacks we brought Jen back to the house where she crashed for the night. Tris and Mary and I went to the Downstairs for some more drinks and dancing. It was a fun night. I think I got in "bed" (aka slept on the floor of the hallway) around 330. Thats right, I let tristi and jen sleep on the bed and i took the hallway floor :) what a nice friend i am. haha. Anyway, i woke up at730am with a head ache, and couldn't fall back to sleep. just laid there in the hallway until 930. Then we all got up and started moving. Headed to Chicago around 1230. Good thing too, because as per usual, i couldn't find my way out of whitewater. even with a navigator this time!! thank god for the state farm road atlas! we got back on track and were at our hotel at 245. Checked in, ordered some Lou Malnatis pizza... havent had that since, well i guess since kelly and I were in chicago! Mary, Malinda and Lisa showed up around the same time the pizza did. we hung out in the hotel and drank before the concert. Headed to Old Chicago in the hotel for a drink before heading out.And now for the part you all have been waiting for... the concert..
Some dude came out and sang. i still dont know who he was, but i danced along with the music. Natasha bettingfield (?) then came on stage. she sang a couple songs i didn't know, a couple i like, and 2 that i hate (unwritten and pocket full of sunshine). then at 9pm, the boys took the stage! They came up with a bunch of smoke and light show going on around them... and started out singing their single "single" what a way to start it out boys, moved right into 'my favorite girl' this show was GREAT. like they blew my expectations out of the water with it, seriously. they played like ALL of their songs from the past (the only one i can think of that was big that they didn't sing is 'this one's for the children') and can I say, they all look amazing. seriously, they aged very well :) oh and I looked into it... youngest, joe, is 35. the oldest, jonathan, 39. Anyway, some of my favorite moments.... I was thrilled that Joey and Jordan got to sing their singles from their solo career. joey sang "stay the same" he was standing on our side of the stage, and a single spotlight came on him and he started belting it out. towards the end a chorus came out to sing with him. Jordan sang his song "give it to you" one of my fave songs ever! loved it! I was sooo happy they got to do those songs. after jordan and joe did their solos on stage, donnie came out and sang "cover girl". that was great too! They turned the lights down to pitch black at one point, and all of a sudden on the opposite side of the arena i see flashes going off.. the boys were going thru the audience! when the lights came back on they were on a circular stage towards the back of the arena! this stage had a piano on it and it slowly spun around as they sang three songs... '2 in the morning', 'dirty dancing' and 'tonight' how awesome for the people in the back to get a closer view of the guys! I also loved it when danny came out to do some break dancing!! way to go danny! hes still got it, that is for sure. my FAVORITE part though was when jordan sang 'baby i believe' with his shirt unbuttoned and flying in the "wind" jordan has to be the hottest thing that walked the face of this planet. seriously.
In the end they played their single "summertime" (i like this part!) and they headed off the stage, lights went down as if to say we are outty. i looked at jen and said NO WAY are they done. they haven't sang 'step by step' or 'hangin tough' the crowd just started clapping and screaming louder and louder (as if they hadn't been thru the whole concert...) and then there it was on the screen "STEP" and they came back out and sang step by step.... after that they left again... but this time they had a basketball intro to hangin tough... they came out and sang hangin tough.... you should have seen the sea of waving hands, hangin tough style!!! amazing. goose bumps. what a nerd, i know. but this was the experience i never got when i was 12. and guess what mom, i was not trampled :) heheh
anyway it was an AWESOME concert, and I am sooooo happy Mindy got me to buy tickets for the show here in MN!! so I get to see that amazing concert twice!
oh and by the way, they were on stage for two full hours. totally worth the $80 :) and i got to be there with great friends. What a wonderful experience. thank you NKOTB!!
